Upon arrival, customer wanted to fix a leaky ball valve and repair his frozen broken hose bib. After a full diagnosis we discovered that his main water shut off wasn’t leaking. It was actually the pressure reducing valve dripping onto the main shut off. We also found the water pressure was over 100 PSI (pounds-per square inch) which is way too high. Code is 80 PSI max because anything higher can cause leaking gaskets and cartridges which can negatively impact the life of any fixture that runs water. Our plumbing professionals installed a new pressure reducing valve and set the pressure to 70 PSI as well as replaced the frozen and broken hose bib.
